Before you apply
What does the interview process look like?
Most loops run a recruiter screen, a conversation with the hiring manager, a skills round drawn from real work rather than trivia, and a team and values round, then a decision. Exact steps vary by role, your recruiter maps them out for you, and most loops finish in two to three weeks.Do I need prior foundation-model experience or a PhD?
No. We care about what you can do. Strong independent work, open source, and thoughtful writing count as much as pedigree, and many roles do not require a PhD.How do Research & Engineering, Applied, and Product roles differ?
Research & Engineering owns the core science and systems behind the LFMs: pretraining, architecture, distributed training, and inference. Applied takes the models into real customer products, end to end. Product turns engineering energy into crisp, executable bets and gets them into users' hands. Every open role above is grouped by the team you would join. Can I use AI tools when applying or interviewing?
Yes. We build AI tools and expect you to use them to sharpen your thinking and your work. In live technical rounds, we will tell you clearly when we want to see your own unaided problem-solving. What we assess is your judgment, your transparency, and your ability to explain the work.Do you sponsor visas?
Yes, for eligible roles, along with relocation support.Where do you hire, and what is the in-office expectation?
Primarily San Francisco and Boston, with a Tokyo presence. In-office cadence is set per team and stated on the role.Do you hire interns or new grads?
We hire a small number of interns and early-career engineers when a team has the capacity to mentor well. Openings appear in the roles list when they are available. If none are listed, get in touch and we will keep you posted. Can I apply to more than one role, or reapply later?
Yes to both. If more than one role fits, apply to the closest and mention the others. You are welcome to reapply as your experience grows. How do I request an interview accommodation?
Just ask your recruiter at any point in the process, or get in touch before you apply. You do not need to share medical details, and asking will never affect how your application is evaluated. How long do I have to decide on an offer?
Typically two weeks, and we do not use exploding offers. Your recruiter walks you through compensation, equity, and benefits, and gives you room to decide.I do not see the right role. Can I still reach out?
Please do. Get in touch and tell us what you would want to own. We read everything that comes in.
